Biomimetic Nanoparticles for Enhanced Drug Delivery Efficacy in Solid and Secondary Tumors

My research will focus on the use of biomimetic nanoparticles with different cell membranes, thus transferring the specific characteristics of these membranes directly onto the nanoparticles. To compare the different options, the biodistribution of the nanoparticles will be monitored using bioluminescent optical imaging and a switch system will be designed to evaluate the successful release of the nanoparticle content in the cancer cells. The amount of successful nanoparticle-cancer cell interactions will afterwards be used to re-evaluate the design of the nanoparticle.
